Meta Muse for Small Business: an AI agent for your ad account
Meta’s Muse for Small Business connects Muse, Meta’s personal AI agent, to a business’s Facebook Page, Instagram analytics and Meta ad account. It can analyse which ads and posts are working and draft the next week’s campaign, and Meta says nothing publishes, sends or spends without the owner’s approval. It launched on 29 September 2026 for businesses in the United States and Canada and is free for most uses.

What changed
Muse is the personal AI agent Meta introduced on 8 September 2026: an assistant that completes tasks on a user’s behalf, from email to bookings, rather than only answering questions. On 29 September Meta added skills and connectors for small businesses, so the same agent can take on a goal such as finding new customers and work towards it.
For advertising, the change is the connection to Meta’s own business tools. Meta says Muse can connect “Instagram professional account analytics, Facebook Pages, and Meta ad accounts in a few clicks”, and starts out already understanding what the business sells, its brand voice and common customer questions. The ad-related tasks Meta describes:
- Analysing which ads and content are working, checking trends and drafting a campaign for next week.
- Analysing sales, campaign and social performance and drafting a growth plan.
- Reviewing monthly financial performance and flagging unusual expenses.
Other connectors include Shopify, Klaviyo, Intuit QuickBooks, Stripe, HighLevel, Canva, Figma, Notion, Slack, Asana, Box, Dropbox, Granola, Lovable and Zoom, with the full list in Muse’s settings and custom connectors possible. The control rule is the important line: “nothing publishes, sends, or spends without your approval.”
A Meta for Business case study published on 20 October, about a shoe retailer that has tested Muse since September, shows what that looks like in practice: Muse “builds out ad sets, reads the numbers” and flags where spend isn’t earning its keep. It gives no performance figures.
Muse is free “for most of what people need”, with subscription plans for more. Meta gives no prices in the announcement and no dates for countries beyond the US and Canada. On 27 October Meta launched the personal Muse agent in Singapore; that announcement does not mention the small-business skills or ad account connections.
Why it matters
This is Meta putting an AI agent between the small business owner and Ads Manager. The owner asks for a campaign in plain language; Muse drafts it from the ad account’s own data and the business’s other tools, and the owner approves. Together with the Meta ads MCP server, which lets agencies run the same kind of work from their own AI tools, Meta is now offering AI-drafted campaigns at both ends of the market.
Our view: for an owner who never learned Ads Manager, a drafted campaign with an approval step is a real improvement on boosting posts. The risk is the approval step becoming a formality. An agent that reads its own account’s numbers will optimise for what Meta reports, so the owner still needs to check results against actual orders or leads. For agencies, expect small clients in the US and Canada to arrive with campaigns Muse has already drafted, and to ask why they should pay for what the agent does free.
For Indian businesses Muse is not available yet. The route that works today is the ads MCP server with an AI assistant, governed by the portfolio rules described in that brief.
What to do
- If your business is in the US or Canada, connect the Meta ad account in Muse’s connector settings, then start with an analysis request, such as which ads worked last month, before asking it to draft anything.
- Treat every Muse draft like a junior media buyer’s plan: check the audience, budget and placements in Ads Manager before you approve it.
- Compare Muse’s view of what is working with your own source of truth, such as Shopify orders or CRM leads, for a few weeks before trusting its recommendations.
- If you manage ads for small businesses, ask clients whether they use Muse, and agree who approves what goes live on the ad account.
- Outside the US and Canada, use the ads MCP server instead, and set its portfolio rules before anyone connects an AI tool.
Still unknown
Meta has not said which settings Muse can change in an ad account, whether it can adjust budgets on live campaigns, what the paid plans cost or include, or when Muse for Small Business comes to countries beyond the US and Canada, including whether it is part of the Singapore launch. The 8 October update to the announcement is not described. The case study’s claims are the business owner’s account, with no performance data.
Frequently asked questions
What is Meta Muse for Small Business?
A set of skills and connectors for Muse, Meta’s personal AI agent, aimed at running a small business. It connects to a business’s Facebook Page, Instagram analytics and Meta ad account, plus tools such as Shopify, Klaviyo, QuickBooks, Stripe, Canva and Slack, and can analyse performance and draft campaigns. Meta launched it on 29 September 2026.
Is Muse for Small Business available in India?
Not yet. Muse for Small Business is available in the US and Canada; the personal Muse agent reached Singapore on 27 October 2026, and Meta has given no dates for India. Indian advertisers who want an AI assistant working on their Meta ad account can use the Meta ads MCP server, which is in open beta across regions.
Can Muse create and spend on Meta ads by itself?
No. Meta says nothing publishes, sends or spends without the owner’s approval. Muse can analyse which ads are working and draft a campaign; in a Meta case study it builds out ad sets and flags spend that isn’t paying off, but the owner approves what goes live.
How much does Muse cost?
Meta says Muse is free for most of what people need, with subscription plans for those who want more. The announcement gives no prices.
