Meta Ads Manager Creative diversity column: how to read it

Published Oct 29, 2026Announced Not confirmedLast verified Oct 29, 2026

Meta Ads Manager has a Creative diversity column that rates each ad set High, Medium or Low for how varied its images and videos are. Meta hasn’t announced it, and its help page says the metric is still in development, but the column is available in Ads Manager today. It is Meta’s first direct score for the creative variety it keeps asking advertisers for.

What changed

Meta’s help page explains how it works:

To add it: Ads Manager → Columns → Customise columns, search for Creative diversity, tick it and apply. The rating appears against ad sets.

It sits alongside Meta’s existing creative fatigue signals. Those show *Creative limited* or *Creative fatigue* in the Delivery column when people have seen the same image or video too often and cost per result has risen against your past ads. Creative diversity looks at the variety in an ad set before fatigue shows up.

Why it matters

On 28 October Meta explained that its ad system now reads what is in each ad and considers far more ads for each person. An ad set full of near-identical images gives that system little to choose from. This column is the first place Meta puts a number on it.

Treat it as a pointer, not a target. It compares visuals only, so two ads with different hooks and offers but similar-looking images can still score Low. Meta doesn’t publish its thresholds, and calls the metric in development. A Low rating is a prompt to look at your ads, not proof that they’re wrong.

What to do

Still unknown

Meta hasn’t announced the column or said when it appeared, which accounts and countries have it, or what thresholds separate High, Medium and Low. It hasn’t said whether text, audio or video content beyond the thumbnail will be considered, or whether the rating affects delivery.

Frequently asked questions

A column that rates each ad set High, Medium or Low for how varied its creative is. Meta compares the images and video thumbnails in the ad set with each other, scores how similar they are, and turns the score into a label.
