On 6 October 2026, during Advertising Week New York, Meta announced twelve advertising features across Ads Manager, the Meta AI business assistant and Ads Creative Studio. Two are available to all advertisers now: Customer Lifecycle Strategy, which recommends existing-customer exclusions when you mark a campaign as acquisition, and Advantage+ creative video generation from static images. The rest range from expanding, to beta, to testing, to planned for later in 2026. Meta names no countries for any of them.

What changed

The release exists in Spanish and Portuguese on Meta’s regional newsrooms; this brief summarises both. Status wording is Meta’s, translated.

Available to all advertisers now

Expanding or launching

Beta, testing or planned

Meta attaches one performance claim: advertisers who adopt the business assistant’s recommendations typically see 5% more conversions at the same cost per conversion than those who do not. Neither release gives a footnote, period or sample. The other statistic, that more than 60% of time on Facebook and Instagram is spent watching video, is also unsourced.

Why it matters

Customer Lifecycle Strategy is the item with a decision attached today. Acquisition campaigns live or die on whether “new customer” in the campaign means the same thing as “new customer” in your order data. Meta’s recommendations will be built from the customer lists and pixel events Meta can see; if your existing-customer definition includes people who bought through a marketplace, a retail partner or a sales rep, Meta cannot see them and the exclusion will leak. The feature is useful; the definition is still your job.

The creative items matter more for teams than for results. Video generation from static images and catalogue images lowers the cost of getting a video variant into a test; it does not tell you whether the variant is any good, and Meta’s own 60% video-time figure is an argument for testing, not a promise. The assistant and the MCP server are the long game. Meta is building toward agents that plan and change campaigns, with approvals in the loop, and the MCP server is the first piece that agencies can actually plug into. Our view: the right response this month is to tidy your customer definitions and exclusion lists, add a generated video variant to one live test, and keep approvals mandatory on anything an assistant proposes.

What to do

Still unknown

Meta gives no countries, dates or eligibility for any of the twelve items beyond the status words quoted above, and the 5% assistant claim has no footnote. We have not tested account access; the account-level steps above are how we would confirm what has reached a given account. The English-language version of this release was not available to us, so feature names are translations of Meta’s Spanish and Portuguese wording.

Frequently asked questions

What is Meta’s Customer Lifecycle Strategy?

An Ads Manager capability, available to all advertisers since Meta’s 6 October 2026 announcement, that lets you mark a campaign as an acquisition campaign and receive Meta’s recommendations for excluding existing customers, instead of building those exclusions yourself.

Is Meta’s AI audience discovery available now?

No. Meta says advertisers will be able to describe their ideal customer in natural language inside Detailed Targeting later in 2026. It was announced on 6 October 2026 as planned, not live.

Which Meta creative AI features are generally available?

Advantage+ creative video generation, which makes video from existing static images, is generally available. Ads Creative Studio is rolling out to more advertisers. Product videos from catalogue images are a beta for eligible advertisers.

Does the Meta AI business assistant change campaigns on its own?

Not yet. Meta says agentic actions such as creating a campaign or changing a budget through conversation are coming soon with previews and approvals, and scheduled tasks and alerts are in testing. Work prepared through the Meta Ads MCP server arrives as a draft in Ads Manager and needs explicit approval to publish.
